On Monday, the US Securities and Exchange Commission announced the creation of a Cyber Unit targeted at cyber-related misconduct. This announcement comes just days after the news that the agency’s EDGAR filing system was the target of a 2016 hack. Those in the cryptocurrency world will be intrigued to learn that one of the Cyber Unit’s focus areas will be violations involving distributed ledger technology and ICOs.
